Find below the list of some of the best restaurants in Barcelona (our favorites, without any doubt!).
Barcelona is a city with a great gastronomic variety and where you can eat very well if you know where to go. You have a great variety of delicious tapas bars in the Barceloneta and El Born neighborhoods, you have many restaurants with traditional seafood cuisine where you will find spectacular fish and paellas, it also has a wide variety of beach bars where you can enjoy a meal in front of the sea, and in general, a wide range of possibilities, from modern haute cuisine to a wide variety of quality hamburgers and pizzerias.
After many years eating in our city and as passionate about gastronomy that we are, we have made a list of our favorite restaurants with photos of the best dishes, our favorite dishes, their website and the location so that you can reserve a table to eat or have dinner.
Here they go !!
Racó de l’agüir:
The restaurant with which we open this post is “El Racó de L’Agüir, a restaurant with market cuisine and a top quality product, located in the picturesque Sant Antoni neighborhood, at the end of Calle Tamarit reaching the Paralel.
The Iberian secret paella, trumpets of death, and seasonal verturitas is simply spectacular, they call it “l’arros del tros”. It is, without a doubt, one of the best places to eat rice in Barcelona.
If you go during the week you will also find a menu that, for € 17, offers a starter, main course, dessert and drink.
Finally, it is important to call to ask for a table one or two days before, although if you go at the last minute it is likely that you will find a free table.
We recommend:
-Monkfish croquettes
– “Arròs del tros”
-Cheese cake (they have it off the menu, if you go and they offer it … don’t hesitate!)

Can Ros
Can Ros, located on the second row from the sea, in the famous Barceloneta neighborhood, is one of the most historic places in the area. For some years now, it has been run by a young team that has known how to take care of the seafood cuisine of yesteryear by adding modern touches, with the result of a meticulous kitchen that is full of flavor that does not leave its guests indifferent.
We recommend:
-Starred eggs with acorn-fed Iberian ham and prawns.
-Coca de butifarra and grilled octopus with minced apricots, onion and chives.

La palmera
Purely “market” restaurant, located on Enrique Granados street, one of the most beautiful streets in Barcelona, in what appears to be an old Barcelona winery.
With first class treatment, the guys from La Palmera will recommend their specialties and inform you of the dishes off the menu.
During noon, they also offer a tasting menu that we could not enjoy since our visit was at night, but without a doubt… we will be back!
We recommend reserving a table (you can book online on their website).
The place has a small terrace at street level.
We recommend:
-Iberian botifarra coca spread with mushrooms
-Crunchy packets of cod brandade.

Xiringuito Escribà
Undoubtedly, one of the best restaurants on the beach in Barcelona, and we know that we are not discovering anything, since “Chiringuito Escribà” has been one of the city’s leading seafood restaurants for some years now. But without a doubt, you must go to try their rice! It is located on the beach promenade, past Vila Olímpica, at the height of Bogatell beach.
They have the rice kitchen integrated into the dining room where the most curious will be able to see how their paella is prepared, without a doubt, a real highlight.
We recommend:
–Paella seafood (here we do not play it, the rice is brutal!)
-All their homemade desserts (they change every day, and they are presented to you on a table for you to choose from … super original!)

El cangrejo loco
El Cangrejo Loco restaurant is one of the emblems of the Port Olímpic of Barcelona.
Located at the bottom of the pier, it goes into the sea with unbeatable views, on one side the port and on the other the Nova Icaria beach and the open sea, impressive!
At lunchtime they offer different menu options, all of them with an unbeatable value for money. It can be said that “it is not another restaurant with a menu”, El Cangrejo Loco has wanted to make a difference among its neighbors and it has undoubtedly achieved it, with an elegant treatment and a very good quality product.
We recommend:
– Lunch menu (as I have already said, value for money of 10 and a careful, quality and well-treated product)
– All the fish and seafood they offer.

Barraca
With an unbeatable location and views, the Barraca restaurant, located on the first line of the Barceloneta promenade, is a fantastic option for a Sunday lunch with family or friends. If you like “rosted” rice like I do, accompanied by some top quality starters with a fresh and well-worked product, you will love La Barraca (also like me!).
Tip: book and ask for a table on the first floor to enjoy the Mediterranean blue while you savor a good paella.
We recommend:
-All paellas and rice dishes.

Martinez
El Martinez, another of the great acquaintances of Barcelona. Located at the top of the Montjuic mountain, it could be said that on the edge of the cliff towards the port area, this picturesque restaurant offers one of the best terraces in the city in its outdoor area and spectacular views in the indoor table area ( to which you can only have the option of arriving by booking in advance).
Its seafood cuisine with modern touches and fresh produce make Martinez a safe bet.
We recommend:
-The prawn rice

Mimo’s Born
El Mimo’s has a small terrace in one of the beautiful squares of the picturesque and beloved Born (located a few meters from the Church of Santa María del Mar, in front of Calle Argentona). Its location, added to a quality cuisine, with good rice dishes, good fresh and well-worked products, make Mimo’s an excellent option for a summer dinner with friends.
We recommend:
-Make sure you try their croquettes, lobster and oxtail are … a pleasure for the palate!

Pulpería celta
Located in the Borne neighborhood, the Celtic grocery store is one of our favorites. Its appearance is not of great luxury but rather is a typical neighborhood bar but its Galician tapas are of great quality. They also serve very fast.
There you can breathe the authentic atmosphere of a Galician town bar with the waiters shouting the dishes loudly.
We recommend:
–Galician style octopus (pulpo a la gallega), Galician empanada and patatas bravas.

Tantarantana
Tavern-style tapas bar located in the heart of El Born.
The food is very tasty and most of it is from “km 0” (of the land). It has a magnificent terrace.
We recommend:
-Breaded eggplant, fried eggs with Iberian ham and patatas bravas.

It is without a doubt the best ice cream parlor in Barcelona. The ice creams are artisan and spectacular.
They have been open for more than 100 years. They have more than 3800 reviews on Google.
Try it, you will not regret it.
